A group of Russian insurgents known as the Freedom of Russia Legion (Легион «Свобода России», Legion "Svoboda Rossii"), who are aligned with the Ukrainian Armed Forces, crossed the border with Russia's Belgorod Oblast on the 22th of May 2023. The Freedom of Russia Legion, a unit that consists only of Russian volunteers, subsequently announced that it and the Russian Volunteer Corps (RVC; Русский добровольческий корпус, РДК, Russkiy dobrovol'cheskiy korpus, RDK; a different group reportedly responsible for an incursion into the Bryansk region in March) had secured the village of Kozinka in the Belgorod oblast, and that its forward detachments had entered the town of Grayvoron.

A Ukrainian official acknowledged that the Freedom of Russia Legion had carried out a cross-border incursion in the area but stressed they were acting independently.

The 49th G7 summit was held from 19 to 21 May 2023 in Hiroshima, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. The 2023 summit was the first for British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. Guests includes Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Anthony Albanese.

Beijing recently held the first Central Asia summit in Xi’an. The city was put on high-security alert to host the five heads of state from Central Asia. The goal? To compete with the G-7 summit in Japan and to put the city under a stress test. Xi’an has always been important to Chinese leaders. But to Xi Jinping, Xi’an is even more important, not just for personal reasons but also for war preparation.

Comment on Xina's Legal System & Evergrande's trillions in debt: One should understand: In China, the Purpose of its Legal System is to certify the legitimacy of Government's actions. Therefore, the outcome of a lawsuit is often predetermined, the Chinese Court is instructed of what outcome should be. The great majority of the debts Evergrande owes are to the banks. As long as Evergrande remains a Zombie, the loans are considered as "Premium Assets" (i.e. real estate loan is generally low risk because the property is the collateral) . So if Evergrande is bankrupt, there will be a domino effect on the banks. So 5000 lawsuits are meaningless, because Evergrande should have bankrupted 2 years ago. China's Court has already been informed that none of the lawsuits are allowed to proceed since CCP government has decided it is less risky to let all creditors bankrupt instead of the national banks. The individuals that bought the unfinished home is on the hooked to pay mortgage on something they will never own for 30 years because there is NO bankruptcy protection for individuals in China.

Westerners must watch Xinese feet, not heed guff about 5,000 years of “stability” and Han homogeneity. Moscow appears to have lost four military aircraft [five?] in downings on 23-5-13 in the Bryansk region of Russia, some 50 kilometers northeast of the border with Ukraine. Two Mi-8 military helicopters and two fighter jets — an Su-34 and an Su-35 — suffered crashes on Saturday, according to reports by Russian state media and pro-Kremlin bloggers. All crew members of the aircraft died, according to the reports.
 
The Russian Air Force (Военно-воздушные силы России, tr. Voenno-vozdushnye sily Rossii, VVS) is a branch of the Russian Aerospace Forces, the latter being formed on 1 August 2015 with the merging of the Russian Air Force and the Russian Aerospace Defence Forces. The modern VVS was originally established on 7 May 1992 following Boris Yeltsin's creation of the Ministry of Defence. However, the Russian Federation's air force can trace its lineage and traditions back to the Imperial Russian Air Service (1912–1917) and the Soviet Air Forces (1918–1991).

A series of actions by the Nazis against French political prisoners and members of the French Resistance had previously sparked mass civil unrest. This began on 15 August and climaxed three days later with a general strike. However, having been ruled by the Nazis for over four years, the liberation of the capital was not a priority for the forces under General Dwight D. Eisenhower. Furthermore, the Allied commanders were unwilling to risk the destruction of the city since they were aware that Hitler had said it ‘must not fall into the enemy's hand except lying in complete debris.’

Having received reports that the US Third Army led by General Patton was close to Paris, but unaware that they did not intend to attack the city Von Choltitz, the Nazi military governor, ordered explosives to be placed at strategic points. The Nazis never had the chance to detonate them.

The German military withdrew down the Champs Élysées on the morning of 19 August. At this point the French Forces of the Interior, otherwise known as the French resistance, seized the opportunity to begin a full-scale uprising. Barricades were erected the next day, with fighting reaching a peak three days later. It was this that persuaded Eisenhower to change his plan and allow Allied troops to enter Paris.

Over 800 resistance fighters died before the Free French 2nd Armoured Division led by Captain Raymond Dronne arrived to assist the uprising just before midnight on 24 August. On 25 August the US 4th Infantry Division entered the city. General Charles de Gaulle, the head of the Free French Forces and a symbol of hope to his countrymen, led a triumphant parade down the Champs Élysées. Von Choltitz surrendered later that day.

Pobedobesie (победобесие, 'victory frenzy, victory mania or obsession with victory') is a pejorative term used to describe the "hyperbolic celebrations" of Victory Day in Russia. This has been dubbed the Victory Cult. The term has been extended to refer to the weaponization of the legacy of World War II to justify Russia's aggressive policies and an increase of militarism, using the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany for p00paganda purposes.

"Russia likely staged this attack in an attempt to bring the war home to a Russian domestic audience and set conditions for a wider societal mobilization. Several indicators suggest that the strike was internally conducted and purposefully staged. Russian authorities have recently taken steps to increase Russian domestic air defense capabilities, including within Moscow itself, and it is therefore extremely unlikely that two drones could have penetrated multiple layers of air defense and detonated or been shot down just over the heart of the Kremlin in a way that provided spectacular imagery caught nicely on camera." ISW.

The ISW analysis fits with the Krumblin's subsequent tantrums, empty threats, and utterly ludicrous accusations of a US plot.

Why the delay between attacks? The first drone failed to create dramatic footage of fire on the roof, so they launched another short range drone, which they detonated remotely above the roof. Why the blackout of nearby buildings before the attacks? Presumably to ensure that uncontrolled, revealing footage could not find its way online.
