The push to indoctrinate children with his political thinking brings Xi’s ideology to its youngest audience yet.
It comes as the Communist party conducts a wider campaign to fight what it considers corrupting influences on the youth, from video games to celebrities and foreign educational tools.
Textbooks for older children delve into more complex topics such as the country’s aerospace industry and the path to becoming a “modern socialist great power”.
Chinese pupils returned to school with new textbooks peppered with “Xi Jinping thought”, as the Communist party aims to extend his personality cult to children as young as seven and rear a new generation of patriots. [Presumably this means "patriots" willing to die for China.]
The education ministry has said it will incorporate Xi’s vaguely defined political ideology into the national curriculum, from primary schools to graduate programmes, at the start of the new school year on Wednesday.
Primary school teachers must “plant the seeds of loving the party, the country and socialism in young hearts”, according to a government notice on the new curriculum.

On Feb. 1, 2020, Chinese Communist Party implemented new restrictions on all forms of religious activity. It is called the “Control Measures for Religious Groups”. There are 41 new rules that deal with everything from the holding of rites and rituals, the selection of leaders, annual meetings, hiring of staff and the handling of funds. All of these must be reported in advance to the comrades at the “Religious Affairs” office for their approval. In other words, without the permission of the CCP comrades, you can’t organize a Bible study. And if you do get permission, you’d better hold it in a Party-approved religious venue, at a Party-approved time, with a Party-approved leader and using the new Party-approved Bible, which contains quotations from Confucius and, Xi Jinping.
